Kia (Cycle & Carriage) Singapore Launches “Go Beyond Expectations” Brand Campaign and Introduces First Brand Ambassador

Singapore, 20 April 2016Cycle & Carriage Kia, the leading automotive distributor in Singapore, launches a new brand campaign – “Go Beyond Expectations”today. In conjunction with the launch, Kia has announced the appointment of Singapore artiste Nat Ho, as Kia’s first-ever brand ambassador here.

With many international awards under its belt, Kia has established itself as a strong contender in the automotive industry internationally. Staying true to the brand’s values, Kia sole authorised distributor, Cycle & Carriage, takes it up a notch with its constant innovation to surprise people, and delivers a multi-sensory brand experience through three key product propositions – Quality, Reliability, and Design.
 
Kia Motors has put its entire stable of models under major makeover since the appointment of world-renowned automotive design legend, Peter Schreyer, as its Chief Design Officer in 2006. Over the past decade, Kia designs have evolved from humble to bold, and from bland to distinctive. In the past year, Kia has unveiled several new generation Kia models, beginning with the all-new Sorento SUV, the all-new Carens MPV, and most recently the all-new Optima executive sedan. The brand is set to unveil yet another European Kia bestseller, the all-new Sportage in Singapore, in the coming months. Beyond achieving new quality standards, Kia has continued to update its dynamic design formula with the new generation of Kia models.
 
“The arrival of these completely redesigned Kia models is an exciting reason for customers to discover the ‘New Kia’, as Kia continues to challenge everything people think they know about the brand,” Mr Eric Chan, Managing Director of Singapore Motor Operations, Jardine Cycle & Carriage Limited shares his excitement. “Never judge a car before you have experienced it. “Go Beyond Expectations” is Cycle & Carriage’s new and ambitious campaign that demonstrates Kia’s audacity in constantly pushing the boundaries within the automotive world, and aims to challenge customers to experience and discover Kia’s power to surprise.

 
Kia – Designer Car for the 21stCentury
 
The remarkable transformation of Kia cars from being simple functional rides into true objects of desire is helmed by Schreyer, who was named one of the three Presidents of the company in 2012. A world-class designer with an automobile legacy second to none, Schreyer is instrumental in Kia’s evolutionary designs, and is responsible for the introduction of the distinctive hallmark grille - the “Tiger Nose”, a defining feature for the new generation of Kia models, and the face of the entire car company. Schreyer injects his expertise and flair into Kia’s new design idiom, and marries style with cutting-edge technology.

This year, Kia has once again reinforced its reputation for the highest design standards, picking up two prizes at the 2016 ‘Red Dot Awards’ for Product Design, one of the most prestigious international product design competitions. 

The all-new Sportage and the all-new Optima both received coveted ‘Red Dots’. The independent judging panel even honoured the Kia Optima with a ‘Best of the Best’ Award, the competition’s highest distinction, for which only the most ground-breaking designs in a category are eligible.

Aside from the distinctive design, drivers can experience luxury and enjoy maximum comfort on the road with the new generation of Kia cars, packed with exclusive features typically found in other high-end makes – such as ventilated seats, smart parking assist system, smart trunk system, panoramic sunroof, power tailgate, keyless entry and start-stop, auto cruise control and blind spot detection system. Kia’s undoubted reliability is demonstrated in its consistent accomplishment in safety testing, having being awarded maximum five-star safety rating by Europe’s leading road safety organisation, Euro NCAP, for its fleet of new generation models2. The Korean automaker has been making steady improvements in quality over the years, and was ranked second among all industry brands in the J.D. Power 2015 U.S Initial Quality Study3. On top of clinching the second spot among 33 other leading industry nameplates in the study, Kia achieved the highest score among all non-luxury brands in the industry.

The new Kia brand campaign “Go Beyond Expectations” challenges the market’s perception of the brand. Moving away from conventional focus on just the cars, the new campaign captures the unbridled child-like wonder and excitement of adults upon experiencing new generation Kia. Pushing boundaries in all aspects, beyond the automotive sphere, Kia deployed an advanced 3D video imaging and editing technology to exemplify the ultimate experience.


 
In the search for the ideal individual who brings out the candid and surprised expressions of having experienced the ‘new Kia’, the brand handpicked Singapore artiste Nat Ho, to be the face for Kia in Singapore. Nat epitomises the very qualities that Kia represents – distinctively stylish, bold and always ready to go beyond expectations. In his art and his businesses, Nat seeks out every opportunity to deliver his best, and enriches his performances, by living out the ‘never say no’ attitude.
 
“I’m extremely honoured join the Kia family as the first brand ambassador in Singapore. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a brand that shares the same belief to constantly challenge oneself. I’m very much looking forward to achieving new milestones for myself and with Kia, beyond what’s expected together,” said Nat Ho, Artiste and Brand Ambassador of Kia.

This was the car I sat in for the road circuit tests at the later part.
 


This KIA Optima is more of a premium category which I pretty like..
cos it has a class of its own. The interior looks pretty premium and I shall leave that out for you to find out more. Seriously, I wouldn't mind being an ambassador for this and drive this around in Singapore! But I afraid being an Automobile Blogger I would jeopardize myself as an ambassador for a car brand. But I guess, it doesn't matter! haha..

After that.. headin' off to the secret place.. the CIRCUIT!


So here's my Kia Driver, Jack who will do the stunts later..


He is also a race car driver!
Havin' sat beside him as a passenger.. going thru the circuit was really an adrenalin-rushed experience!
We really put the KIA car to test on cornerings, braking, with and without ABS, etc.
I was truly IMPRESSED after The Kia Experience!

Back into the showroom.. we have sweet-looking Simone Heng and good-looker James Seah to join us at the event!


And I got myself involved in a Spin-the-wheel game and won myself a perfume!
Its like you wouldn't lose, you will sure win something and see what you will walk away with..
So just try it when you are there on the 4th or 5th June! :)



Yeah.. So I got myself a fragrance by Antoine Lie. :)



Later we were ushered into a dark room.. whereby we were introduced to the All-New Kia Sportage!
And there is this guy giving us a detailed run-through of the entire car in terms of its performance and design!


It just look as great and stylish!
You will notice that the front-lamps are quite special with a 3-piece design which forms a circle.


Tail-lamps are as stylish too!
Looks abit like the BMW i8 tail-lamps! :)

After that we were usher to the workshop at the back whereby they will test the reliability of the car and also how diesel can be running so smoothly and efficiently on the KIA cars!
On the tests we have two KIA Sorentos to carry out the test.
It will show how powerful diesel can be on the KIA Cars.

Diesel as we know can be smelly and noisy on cars.
For this.. there's No Smell and its Not Noisy either!
