SINGAPORE - The body of a grey-white cat was found floating in a Yishun pond on Saturday morning (26 Dec).

Ms Janet Sum, founder of cat interest Facebook group Yishun 326 Tabby Cat, said that she was informed of the incident by an officer from the National Parks Board (NParks) at about 8am.
"A dead cat was found floating at 8am this morning in the Yishun pond next to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital," said the group in a Facebook post at 9.45am on Saturday (Dec 26).
The group posted photos of the dead cat floating beside two black and white objects which looked like buoys.
The police was at the scene, the post said. The group also appealed for witnesses to come forward if they have any information.
It is unclear if this incident is linked to the recent spate of cat abuse cases in the neighbourhood since September.
Last week (Dec 22), a cat was found with two fractured legs, and underwent "difficult surgery that required a CT scan, with internal and external plates and pins fixed".
The medical bill is estimated to be about $7,000.
Just days before, MP for Nee Soon GRC Louis Ng announced the formation of a new grassroots fast-response team to gather evidence and hunt the serial cat killers.
Other cats have been found with extensive injuries after being thrown from a height. Some suffered severe trauma to the head and back or injuries to the intestinal organs. One was found with a gouged eye and slit tongue, one had its limbs chopped off and one was strangled.
Under the Animals and Birds Act, anyone found guilty of cruelty to animals can be jailed up to 18 months, fined up to $15,000 or both.

I hope EVERYONE staying at Yishun can keep a look out for the culprit. If you have a bicycle, go an extra mile to patrol around if you are free. You can just save another cat from being abused or dying!
